NEW LIFE OF THE ODESA ZOO - "PRAGMATIKA"

Odessa Zoo is not just a place where you can see animals you have never seen before. It is a place with a long and complicated history that has survived many events. The process was not easy or perfectly planned. However, today the zoo is indivicible part of Odessa and its centre.

Its condition is a concern not only for Odessa residents, but for the whole of Ukraine. Together with the Odessa City Council, we are working on the reconstruction of our zoo. In 2021, we completed the first phase (the entrance area), but plans for new construction could not be realised — in 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

However, we are not abandoning our project — on the contrary, we are continuing our work. That is why, together with the online publication Pragmatika Media, we have published an important article about our zoo. In this article, we talk about all the problems we encountered during the design work, how the history of the zoo shaped its current strengths and weaknesses, and what future we plan to create for the Odessa Zoo.
